A LOOK BACK AT SEPTEMBER
2019 AmericanaFest Songwriter Summit: In September we hosted six Songwriters at The House of Songs in Bentonville AR, to co-write, perform and record new works and then traveled to The 2019 Americana Music Festival and Conference.
The House of Songs brought six outstanding musicians and songwriters to Bentonville, AR for the 2019 Songwriter Summit with the goal to write, record, perform, and explore in preparation for their time at AmericanaFest in Nashville. The Artists consisted of Elles Bailey (UK), Dylan Earl (NWA), Jonathan Terrell (ATX), Jamie Freeman (UK), Brandy Zdan (CA), and Judy Blank (NE).
The Americana Music Festival & Conference is a music festival and music industry conference that takes place every year (usually in September). The first was held in 2000. It has since grown into a five-day multi-venue production. It is run by the Americana Music Association which is a professional not-for-profit trade organization whose mission is to promote awareness, provide a forum, and advocate for the creative and economic vitality of the Americana music genre.
The group wrote 20 new Songs while at The House of Songs which were inspired by their shared stories of the road, the music industry, lost love and diversity and inclusion in the Country Music genre. The House also invited local guest Songwriters, which included Dana Louise, Corey Post, The Allie Lauren Project, and Aaron Smith to co-write with the Artists during the Summit, which ended in beautiful creations and new friendships.
