Today, At Home with The House of Songs features Texas’ Peter More and Canada’s Kaia Kater’s “No One Home”. This past January, before we were all social distancing, Peter and Kaia both took part in our Songwriter Summit at our Ozarks location. All seven artists lived together for 10 days, and were matched up in different pairing combinations. “No One Home” is the result of Peter and Kaia’s collaboration, and is a beautiful and honest take on the premise of coming to terms with growing up and the changes that entails. The video recorded at Crisp Recording was shot by Evan Alvarado (AEnimate Media). We will be featuring both Peter and Kaia individually in the near future. Peter More:
You may have heard Austin-based Peter More’s music produced by Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, live on tour with Grace Potter, or supporting Leon Bridges in their hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. At turns contemplative and rousing, More's music is precisely executed, yet manages to feel original and uncomplicated; Music you want to hum along with and also hang on to every single line.
Over the years, Peter More and his bandmates have called many places home. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, More joined forces with Spanish flamenco guitarist José Juan Poyatos, Mexican bassist Diego Noyola, and French-American drummer Adrien Faunce in San Miguel de Allende, the colonial arts haven three hours north of Mexico City. A chance encounter with Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen and his wife Libby Titus, who happened to be visiting San Miguel, led to Fagen producing More’s debut album, “Beautiful Disrepair”, and a follow-up EP entitled “Shoulder”.

Kaia Kater:
Montreal-born Grenadian-Canadian Kaia’s jazz-fueled voice and deft songcraft have garnered acclaim from NPR, CBC, Rolling Stone and No Depression. Her 2016 release 'Nine Pin' earned a Canadian Folk Music Award. Her new album 'Grenades' explores themes of migration and belonging and has been nominated for a 2019 JUNO award and long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize.
