Today, At Home with The House of Songs features Austin’s Ali Holder. Ali's new album, Uncomfortable Truths, is available today on all digital platforms!
Ali is not only a talented singer, songwriter, guitarist, and tarot card reader, but she is also a great friend and frequent collaborator with The House of Songs. She has written with many guest artists in residence, participated in our #ATXP2P program, was part of our 2019 Winter Songwriter Summit at our Ozarks location, and represented THOS in Montreal where she showcased her new work at Folk Alliance International.
Ali has been planning to release a new album for some time, and like some of our other friends, she has been hamstrung by the current state of the world. What many people do not realize is, that the preparation to release an album requires a lot of planning and investment. Publicity and press advancing, booking and routing a release tour, promoting that tour… all of this must be done months ahead of time, in addition to pouring creativity into a product to go out and share/sell to the world. Despite the halting of the traditional music business, she is releasing her new album digitally today. All of the release shows that she had booked will be rescheduled for future dates, so keep checking her website and socials for updates as things come into focus down the line.
