Lindsay Bailey

Lindsay Bailey is an art and entertainment lawyer, working with a range of creative professionals—from musicians and music industry entrepreneurs, filmmakers, fashion designers, cultural organizations and foundations, and visual artists, to serial entrepreneurs and digital media developers.
 

Lindsay has been an active board member of the B.C. Arts Council since 2015, which administers $34 million in public provincial funds annually to professional artists and arts and culture organizations.

 

Meanwhile, she sits on the board of the House of Songs (Austin, Bentonville & NYC), the Polygon Gallery (Vancouver), Wonder Women of Wine (Austin), and on the Advisory Boards of Black Fret (Austin) and the Technical Apparel Program at The Wilson Design School at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Vancouver). Lindsay is a participant in the ALL ATX Music Leadership Class of 2020 (Austin) and is an active member of the International Trademark Association, where she has served on a leadership committee, in addition to sitting on a number of private corporate boards.

 

Lindsay’s previous experience includes roles on the boards of Cineworks, the Vancouver-based independent filmmakers’ organization, and Femmarte, the Toronto-based private art investment club focused on supporting
careers of Canadian women artists.
 

With a talent for building intellectual property portfolios for her clients and structuring related deals, Lindsay frequently lectures on the topics that critically impact the cultural sectors she serves: record deals and music industry agreements; band/artist branding; business and IP law for the fashion and design sectors; copyright and trademark law; and digital literacy.
 

Lindsay also serves as external General Counsel to several groups of companies, providing strategic advice; business and IP legal services; and support through financing, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic growth-oriented services.
 

Away from the office, Lindsay is an avid art collector with a focus on emerging and mid-career artists, Indigenous Canadian artists, and female abstract expressionist painters. Lindsay has her WSET Level 3 as an excuse to pursue a passion for wine and wine touring in her spare time. Raised on the west coast of Canada on a lake, Lindsay is perpetually in search of a great place to swim and has a bathing suit in her car most any time.
