Ed Nicholson

Ed Nicholson is a public relations and communications specialist. He retired in October, 2016, after a twenty-one-year career with Tyson Foods, Inc. His most recent role there was as senior director of corporate social responsibility. His career also included positions in community relations, media relations, and corporate social media.

While working with Tyson Foods, Ed established the company’s primary philanthropic focus in hunger relief, managing partnerships with regional and national non-profit organizations such as No Kid Hungry/Share Our Strength and Feeding America. In his lead role in corporate social responsibility, he initiated and managed close working relationships with other non-profits, including the National Urban League, League of United Latin Citizens (LULAC), and The Nature Conservancy.

Ed worked in the advertising business for 15 years before coming to Tyson. He founded and operated The Works, a business that serves the advertising industry in Little Rock, for the previous eight years before coming to Tyson. Ed is currently a chair at Elevate Performance, a Fayetteville-based company that facilitates senior management peer advisory and leadership development forums. He currently serves on the boards of The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, the Arkansas Parks and Recreation Foundation, and the House of Songs Foundation. He’s a member of the Northwest Arkansas Advisory Council for the Nature Conservancy of Arkansas.

A former full-time professional guitarist, Ed still maintains music as an avocation and stress release, performing an average of 40 paying engagements a year. 

Ed and his wife Ginger have three grown children. He’s an avid gardener and bicyclist.
